Anguilla 2009... A Day Trip to Paradise!
As you may know, our little family took a short, five day trip to St. Maarten. While we were there, we made the most of St. Maarten's proximity to other small Caribbean islands, and took a day trip to Anguilla. That was the best decision we made, plus it was the highlight of our trip!
Now, part of my ethnic make-up, as you know is from Jamaica. I love Jamaica and I think their beaches were solely number one in the Caribbean until I came to Anguilla! I must admit, Anguilla's East Shoal Beach rivals Negril's 7 mile beach. Its powdery white sand (and I mean powdery!) and pristine turquoise waters are etched in my mind forever! If ever you plan on going to St. Maarten, be SURE to take the short 18 minute ferry ride to Anguilla to enjoy the beach! (East Shoal beach shown in the pictures)
This is my favourite classic "post card" shot.
Here's a pic of me and the girls in the water. Azaria was scared of the water. She cried practically the whole time we were in. We actually took her out and she sat under the umbrella on the chair. She eventually came back in, although hesitant, I think because her sister was having a jolly old time in the water with us!
At the end of the day, Anya soaked up some shade (lol) and fell asleep listening to the calm waters. As for Azaria, she perked up when her bathing suit came off and her clothes came on. Talk about a mood change!!

Extra! Extra! Anya Eats Cereal for the First Time!
It's official. Anya has finally had her first taste of something other than breastmilk! Yesterday she had some rice cereal. When I placed her in Azaria's high chair and put the cereal in front of her, I'm sure she was thinking "what's this?" Needless to say, when she realized that the food was meant for her, she was excited, but I also think a little skeptical. So, into her mouth it went and down her throat. Well, some of it, anyway. As she was swishing it around in her mouth she paused (see third pic below) and from what I gather, tried to reckon whether she really liked it... which she did!! Hey Mikey, she likes it!!

3 Years, 4 Girls Later...
... here they are. The wave of our future. Kesenya, Yazmine, Anya & Azaria. Move over Shane & Shamar, girl power is in the house! lol. This was taken after an afternoon visit last week. (And yes, Azaria & Anya need to stop messing up their hair before pics!! lol)
In the other pics, I actually got Azaria to smile and look at the camera. Lately she's been on a whole "I'm no longer looking nor smiling at the camera" tip. (As seen in the group photo)
Ponytails, yay!
Ok, so I've been slacking again. I've really got to do better. lol.... Anyhow, here's the updated pics of the girls. And yes, it really is what you see. Anya now has enough hair at the top of her little head to make a miniature (and I mean 'miniature') ponytail! Yay! This is just the beginning of endless days playing with both Azaria and Anya's hair! Have I mentioned the truckload of "bubble baubles" that I have? (If you don't know what a 'bubble bauble' is, it's what Azaria has in her hair in this pic)
